Pilates is a safe and effective workout for people of all ages and fitness levels. It helps to strengthen the core, enhance your flexibility, and actively combat the signs of aging that are starting to creep up on your body.
Our Pilates classes are taught and supervised by a Physiotherapist – offering you the support to get the most out of every workout.
Pilates is for you if:
- You’re recovery from an injury
- You are tired of back pain and are finally ready to really do something about it
- You want to get back into shape after having a baby
- You’ve let your fitness go and want to start a safe and effective workout routine
- You’re wanting to build strength and mobility so you can do the things you love with more ease and less chance of injury
We are not like a gym, and we are far more than a Pilates studio!
At the Physio Fit Studio our qualified Physiotherapists create and instruct all of our classes. This means you will learn the correct exercise techniques right from the start so that you exercise effectively and safely – the smart way!
In each of our classes you’ll receive highest level of supervision possible. A physio simply “sees” more and can correct you more effectively. We’ll ensure you always work with great form and recruit the right muscle chains for each movement.
Getting Started
Before you join our classes, you are required to have an Initial Pilates Assessment.
At this initial assessment your Physiotherapist will take your medical history and make a detailed assessment of any injury, pain, or postural problems which are present. You will also be introduced to the basic principles of Pilates. Then you will receive guidance as to which classes are best for you moving forward.
OUR CLASS MENU
Our Mat based classes focus on posture, alignment, core stability, controlled movements, and flexibility. Through experience we have adapted each program to target all of the problem zones we see in our patients on a regular basis. Our classes are therefore more than just a Pilates class, they are a Physio Group Class and can be claimed through your Health Fund. There is a maximum of 10 Clients in each class.
The reformer is a spring-loaded Pilates bed that allows for resistance during your Pilates moves. This class is great fun and builds strength fast. These classes are suitable for all levels. Your program can be modified if you have specific rehab, injury, or pre-natal needs. This class can also be claimed through your Health Fund. There is a maximum of 6 clients in each class.
Clinical Pilates/ Rehab Pilates/ Private Pilates classes:
This is a good option for the group shy – if you prefer not to exercise in a group or have one or two close friends who want to join you, you can book your own private Pilates sessions instead. Have a Physio all to yourself and get results fast.
