Remedial Massage is used in the management of injured or over used muscles. It is also used as maintenance for active people and people with postural alignment problems. During the massage the muscles are assessed to detect abnormalities. Appropriate massage techniques (includes deep tissue, trigger point massage, stretching and client education) are used to normalise muscle tension and realign joints.
Sports Massage is used as a pre-event and post-event treatment to assist in training and increased performance. It helps in the recovery from muscular fatigue. Deep tissue stretching and advanced sports massage techniques help to loosen tight muscle fibres and increase performance. This is important for preventing injuries and increasing flexibility. This massage is also used to speed up the recovery of sports injuries.
This Massage is also known as Swedish massage. It is a gentle Massage using light pressure to stimulate relaxation, stress relief and detox. The techniques are very soothing and leave you feeling refreshed, revitalized and energized.
The aim of Myofascial Release is to remove pain and physical dysfunction by restoring the structural integrity of the body. After a structural assessment slow progressive manual massage techniques are applied to stretch the fascia and to release bonds between fascia, muscles and bones. The goal is to eliminate pain, increase range of motion and circulation and also to balance the body.
Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle and slow treatment that assists the lymphatic system to function more efficiently. It is especially effective to remove toxins and will help to reduce swelling not only in post operative and post injury cases but certainly in people suffering lymphedema. This massage is often used as a complimentary cancer treatment. You need to allow at least 1½ - 2 hours for this massage to be effective.
Oncology Massage Therapy
Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with the complications of cancer and its treatment. Research has shown that Oncology Massage improves the quality of life for people with a history or diagnosis of cancer.
Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy
