Principal Physiotherapist and clinical Pilates Instructor

I graduated as a physiotherapist in 1998 in Germany and have been working in private practice since. After 2 years in a high flying Sports Physio clinic in Germany I found it to be time to do some travelling and to learn English abroad.

On arrival in Australia I found a job as a Chiropractic assistant first. Once I decided I was going to stay I wanted my recognition as a Physio. So, I had re-learn the lot and more to pass the Australian Physiotherapy board exams.

After completing those, I continued my work in the multidisciplinary clinic for eight years. Now I was no longer the Chiro Assistant but a recognized Physio. I continued to work very closely with chiropractors and osteopaths and learned their approach and treatment techniques that I still use today in combination with my Physio skills.

My main interest is solving musculoskeletal problems with a combination of manual therapy, joint and nerve mobilisations, muscle release and massage, and through prescription of stability exercises and stretches.

Clinical Pilates suits my interest perfectly and I became an Instructor in 2003. Since then, I have been running classes. My classes are a very successful and enjoyable part of my physiotherapy career. We make such a difference to people coming to consistently do them! It is phenomenal and one just does NOT get sick of it.

Principal Physiotherapist and clinical Pilates Instructor

My decision to become a Physiotherapist came about after working as a Personal Trainer for years and finding that my knowledge was limited. I really felt I needed a broader understanding of the body in order to better help my clients.

I went on to study a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle. Graduating in 2014. During my studies I ran my own Personal Training business and worked as a Physiotherapist Assistant at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital where I gained valuable experience in orthopaedics and cardio-respiratory physiotherapy.

I was also one of the very few who had the privilege of spending a season with the Newcastle Knights 20s NRL team. Here I gained valuable experience working within a sport physiotherapy team.

I also have my Pilates matwork and reformer instructor certifications. As well as Certificate 3 and 4 in fitness and personal training.

My true passion lies in helping people to maintain functional movement of their bodies; stregth throughout all stages of their lives; mobility; flexibility and overall musculoskleteal health. I believe this is the true fountain of youth. I obtain this through manual therapy techniques, Pilates and other strength and mobility exercises.

Remedial Massage Therapist, Diploma of RM

I have been a massage therapist for over fifteen years. In 2006 I graduated with the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

This level of massage education is required by most health funds so you are able to claim the expenses of your massage.

Before moving to the Tweed Coast early 2007, I worked full time in a multidisciplinary clinic in Brisbane. There I worked alongside Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Naturopaths and other Remedial Massage Therapists.

This gave me a great exposure to different health issues plus an insight into the various possibilities of treating certain conditions. It helps me enormously with the assessment and treatment of my clients today.
